A one pound package would be good for 2 to 3 people if serving with other entrée additions. If serving as a "shrimp feast" then about twice this amount would suffice.
Shrimp are an extremely good source of protein, and are very low in fat & calories, making them a healthy choice of food. Spot shrimp are commercially harvested from October through January using traps that are dropped to the ocean's bottom. Spot shrimp are found in the Pacific Ocean from Alaska to California.
